Quick recap of the framework for anyone new. Four legs, in order. Stablecoin dominance moves first. TOTAL3 moves second. ETHBTC moves third. BTC dominance moves last, the final confirmation that the rotation is real.

Last week ETHBTC gave a real confirmation, breaking a multi month trendline and closing above the level I had been watching. This week is quieter on the surface, but there is one genuine tension underneath the surface that I want to walk through properly, because it changes how I am reading the whole sequence.

This is exactly the kind of week that separates a framework you actually use from one you just talk about. When every chart is moving in a clean, obvious direction, anyone can read the tape. The value of tracking four legs in a fixed order shows up in weeks like this one, where the data does not tell a single clean story, and the discipline is in reporting that honestly rather than picking whichever chart supports the narrative I would prefer to believe.

ETHBTC, holding

The breakout from last week is holding. Price has not given back the level it reclaimed, and it is sitting roughly where it closed a week ago rather than retreating. This is exactly what I want to see after a confirmed move. Not another leg higher immediately, just a market that is not giving back what it just won. Step three remains confirmed and, so far, intact.

Stablecoin dominance, still easing

This continues drifting lower, extending the same slow leak I have been tracking for a few weeks now. It is getting closer to the threshold I said I wanted to see broken before calling step one done. Not there yet, but the direction has been consistent for long enough now that I am taking it seriously as a real trend rather than noise.

TOTAL3, still stuck

No real change. This chart remains in the same range it has held for weeks, showing no sign of the breakout that would confirm altcoins broadly are absorbing new capital. Step two remains the weakest link in the entire sequence, exactly where it was a week ago.

BTC dominance, the one worth talking about

Here is the tension. BTC dominance has now climbed for three straight weeks in a row, moving toward the resistance level above it rather than rolling over toward the support below that would actually confirm step four. On the surface, that looks like it contradicts everything else I just described. ETHBTC broke out and is holding, which should mean capital is leaving BTC. BTC dominance rising says the opposite.

Here is how I am actually reconciling that. ETHBTC measures ETH against BTC specifically. BTC dominance measures BTC against the entire crypto market, including every altcoin. Both can rise together if capital is concentrating into the two largest names, BTC and ETH, at the expense of the broader altcoin market. That is a meaningfully different story than a full rotation out of BTC into everything else, and it lines up exactly with what TOTAL3 is showing. TOTAL3 staying flat while BTC dominance climbs and ETHBTC holds its breakout looks less like the start of a broad alt season and more like majors quietly outperforming a still struggling alt market.

This is worth sitting with because it directly affects how I read last week's altcoin outlook. The strength I described in names like LIT and HYPE was real, but it needs to be understood as strength in specific names rather than evidence of a broad alt market turning. A handful of strong charts inside a flat or weak overall alt market is a very different setup than the same strong charts appearing while TOTAL3 itself is breaking out. The individual setups do not change based on this distinction, but the confidence I put in treating them as the start of something bigger absolutely does.

What this means for the sequence

This is not a setback for the thesis I have been tracking. It is a more precise read on what is actually happening right now versus what I was hoping might be happening. ETHBTC confirming was real evidence of ETH gaining share against BTC specifically. It was never proof that altcoins broadly were about to turn, and this week's data is a useful reminder not to extrapolate one confirmed leg into a story the other three legs are not actually telling.

Step four, BTC dominance rolling over, is now further from confirming than it was three weeks ago, not closer. That matters. A sequence where three legs are stalled or moving the wrong way and one leg is confirmed is a different situation than a sequence where three legs are all trending the right direction and only need time to catch up.

I am treating this as a reason for continued patience rather than a reason to abandon the framework. The framework exists specifically to catch moments like this, where one exciting chart wants to tell a bigger story than the full picture actually supports. Zooming out across all four keeps me honest about the difference.

In the premium issue this week I have the exact levels across all four charts, what BTC dominance actually needs to do to threaten the uptrend it has been in for three weeks, and how this more precise read is changing my approach to the altcoin names I have been tracking separately in the Thursday issues.
